“Mike is currently a member of the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce. He is also a former Board of Director where he served from 2005 to 2011 and worked his way up to the chairman of the Board. He also was recognized as the Ambassador of the year in 2005 and 2006. The Ambassador of the year is recognized by the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate.
Mike is also a past member for 13 years of Business Network International (BNI) where he was a former President and Vice President. Mike has been the recipient of the BNI Notable Networker award where he has passed over a million dollars in closed businesses over the last few years as well as many other BNI awards. As being a part of the community is important to Mike, he is also a member of the Kiwanis Club in Bourne and Wareham as well as serving for Habitat for Humanity from 2007 to 2009.
Mike has started an online educational website, www.HouseFlippingSchool.com to help educate others on Real Estate Investing.
The most important thing to Mike is his family and his kids. His key to success is always trying to help others personally and in business. Never giving up on his dreams by setting goals and being accountable to achieve them.

“Steve Sooy – Acquisitions & Operations Manager”
Steve oversees operations of REpurpose Properties, LLC with a primary focus on acquisitions. Steve’s background adds great value in this position as he was in banking for over 20 years, holding a variety of management and lending positions. The last 10 years of his banking career he was a commercial lender, with a heavy focus on residential construction for the former Mayflower Bank. Prior to banking, Steve worked with his uncles in residential roofing and siding all thru his teenage years. Steve currently serves as Chair of the Wareham Affordable Housing Trust and was Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Bourne-Wareham, a board member of Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts, past Chair of the Cape Cod Canal Area Chamber of Commerce, Past President of BNI, Past President of the Buzzards Bay Area Habitat for Humanity, Past Board Member of the Onset Bay Association and Past Chair of the Tobey Hospital Business Council.
When Steve is not at work he enjoys spending time with his family. Residents of Wareham, Steve, and his wife Monica have raised their hard working adult son Bruce, who works two jobs as a small engine and marine mechanic, their middle child Ginny attends Unity College, following her passion working with animals, majoring in Captive Wildlife. Their teenage daughter Mickey enjoys the Trapeze and Aerial Silks, she currently attends Upper Cape Regional Technical School studying auto collision and working several jobs.
Steve started with REpurpose Properties in January of 2014. Having been close friends with Mike LaCava for several years and watching, as well as financing, a number of Mike’s early projects Steve quickly became enthralled with real estate investing. After leaving the banking industry in November of 2013, Steve attended Mike LaCava’s first House Flipping School Boot Camp in January 2014. After completing the boot camp Mike called Steve and asked him to join with REpurpose Properties assisting in operations, which Steve quickly said yes too. Since that time, Steve has worked all aspects of the business including project management, acquisitions, operations, assisting in financing/banking, property management, etc… Steve and Mike work closely together to ensure successful profitable projects, building and rehabbing quality homes that will stand the test of time.
Keys to Steve’s success is his faith, family, passion for the business, no excuse attitude and the drive to do any work that needs to be done!
